I think this is going to be a great year for SaaS. The initial inhibitions Vis-a-Vis Security, Availability etc are slowly being conquered and corporates as well as SMB's are beginning to realise the benefits.
Personally I see this as the year of the platforms. There will be 2 or 3 major platform releases for SaaS based Apps. Enterprises will being to revolve around these platforms for their in-house as well as on-the-cloud services. This is essentially to overcome another inhibitor in terms of integration requirements.
Data Exchange requirements between platforms will be in focus probably during the end of this year or well into 2009 where people moving across platforms would want to transfer data. Standards for data exchange would probably be the next steam of discussions.
Enterprise requirements will remain be the same, the only difference is what will SaaS do to adopt to these requirements. Therefore will will see the coming together of SaaS(Delivery), Web 2.0(RIA/Sharing) and SOA(Integration). 数据挖掘研究院
