UM2007 CALL FOR DEMONSTRATIONS
11th International Conference on User Modeling
Corfu, Greece, 25 to 29 of June 2007
http://www.iit.demokritos.gr
UM2007 invites researches, practitioners and industry to
exhibit their latest innovative work and products in
"Demonstrations", a new category of solicited 数据挖掘研究院
contributions in the conference series.
UM 2007 is the latest in the User Modeling conference
series, a major international forum for presentation and
discussion of emerging developments in academic research
on user modeling and adaptive systems as well as
industrial experience in deploying adaptive and
personalized systems in "real-world" applications.
The User Modeling conference series brings together
researchers and practitioners from a variety of fields
including artificial intelligence, linguistics,
psychology, and human-computer interaction. Relevant
topics for the conference comprise a broad spectrum and
include (but are not limited to) theories and methods in
user adaptation and usability, collaborative filtering 数据挖掘实验室
and recommender system, information filtering and content
personalization of Web services. In addition, the
conference attracts interest in emerging fields of
personalized interaction in mobile, ubiquitous and
context-aware computing.
The conference series is characterized by a high
standards' technical program with peer-reviewed papers, a
doctoral consortium, talks by distinguished invited
speakers from academia and industry, workshops, tutorials
and, most importantly, lively discussions in a pleasant
environment.
In a continued effort to expand the scope and reach of
this conference series, UM 2007 introduces Demonstrations
of innovative systems and prototypes as a new category of
solicited contributions. Demonstrations will offer an 数据挖掘研究院
opportunity to showcase relevant research prototypes, as
well as industrial products, and to discuss them with an
international audience of experts in user modelling and
adaptive systems.
Demonstrations in UM 2007 will be delivered in the
conference's "Demo area". Specifically, demonstrators
will be allotted space and equipment within a dedicated
area, hosting a number of demonstrations in parallel.
Each demonstration will have a time slot of a typical
length of 2 hours, and the delivery format is expected to
be as interactive and "hands on" as possible, with a
relatively small number of onlookers / participants at a
time. "Live" interactive demonstrations will be favoured
in the selection process.
Further to the above, demonstrators will be able to
provide a short presentation on their demonstration in an
auditorium session that will be scheduled to take place
early on in the conference. This is intended as an
opportunity to make the conference participants aware of
the different demonstrations available, as well as of the
related schedule.
In this context, UM 2007 is seeking interesting and
engaging demonstrations of user modelling and
personalisation technologies, under the general topics of
the conference; a detailed list of these topics can be
found on the conference's web site
(http://www.iit.demokritos.gr
Submissions should be in PDF format, at most two pages
long, and include: (a) a title and a description of the
proposed demonstration's topic and related work; (b) an
outline of the demonstration itself, including modalities
to be used and technical requirements (including space,
power, network, security, etc.); and, (c) a description
of the target audience and a brief account of why you
believe the demonstration would be of interest to said
audience.
To submit a proposal, send a document containing the
information outlined above to the UM2007 Demo Co-chairs
(alpar@fim.uni-linz.ac.at and yannis@di.uoa.gr). All 数据挖掘研究院
submissions will be reviewed on the basis of relevance,
originality, significance, and demonstrability potential.
Important dates:
=B7 Proposal submission - Friday, February 23rd 2007
=B7 Acceptance notification - Friday, March 9th 2007
For more information please visit the Web site of the
conference.
Questions regarding the submission procedure should be
directed to the Demo Co-chairs (alpar@fim.uni-linz.ac.at
and yannis@di.uoa.gr).
Looking forward to your submissions!
